Buddy Hackett was an American actor and comedian.
Biography[]
Born Leonard Hacker in Brooklyn, New York, he initially performed as a nightclub comedian but after a performance of Lunatics and Lovers on Broadway he received his first TV gig. He gained recognition for his appearance in Walking My Baby Back Home, based on his earlier stand-up routine. He made a record number of appearances with Johnny Carson, and it was the talk show circuit that would bring Hackett wider recognition.
Hackett would go on to appear in the television series Stanley and films such as It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World and The Love Bug as well as providing the voice of Scuttle in The Little Mermaid series.
Hackett passed away in 2003.

Hackett made his singing debut in the motion picture The Music Man playing Marcellus Washburn and soon appeared in the original cast of the stage musical I Had a Ball playing Garside. He also sang in the animated holiday film Jack Frost, in which he played Pardon-Me-Pete, the Groundhog.
