Blythe Danner is an American actress.

Biography[]

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she began acting as a stage performer, debuting in The Glass Menagerie in 1965, and later having starring roles in Twelfth Night, The Philadelphia Story and Much Ado About Nothing. She made her screen debut in George M! on television and on film in To Kill a Clown, where she had earlier successes in Lovin’ Molly and Futureworld.

On television, Danner had recurring roles in Adam’s Rib and Tattingers and received award nominations for Huff and Will & Grace. She also had film appearances in Meet the Parents, Last Kiss and I’ll See You in My Dreams.

Danner appeared in a number of stage musicals, including the first productions of Off-Broadway shows Mata Hari and Up Eden as well as major roles in Follies (as Phyllis Rogers Stone) and Nice Work If You Can Get It, where she played Millicent. Onscreen she played Martha Jefferson in 1776.
