Billy Dee Williams is an American actor.
Biography[]
Born William December Williams Jr. in New York City, he studied at the High School of Music and Art and went on to make his film debut in 1959 with The Last Angry Man. Williams became popular after appearing in the television movie Brian's Song and the biopic Lady Sings the Blues, as well as the successful blockbusters the Star Wars Trilogy (as charming rogue Lando Calrissian) and Batman, in which he played Harvey Dent.
In addition to his film work, Williams appeared on television in The Jeffersons and General Hospital: Night Shift as well as the stage plays I Have a Dream and Fences.
Singing[]
Williams began singing early in his career as a page in the ensemble of The Firebrand of Florence. He also appeared as Clem in the musical Hallelujah, Baby! and released the easy listening album Let's Misbehave.
