Billy Crudup is an American actor.
Biography[]
Born William Crudup in Manasset, New York, he studied at Tisch School of the Arts before making appearances in such films as Sleepers and Inventing the Abbotts as well as such stage productions as The Elephant Man and The Pillowman, both of which earned him nominations for Tony Awards. He also provided the voice of Ashitaka in the English dub of Princess Mononoke.
Crudup had a wide variety of film roles, playing Will Bloom in Big Fish, Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen and J. Edgar Hoover in the crime drama Public Enemies. He won a Tony Award for his part as Vissarion Belinsky in The Coast of Utopia: Part 1 - Voyage and a further nomination for playing Bernard Nightingale in Arcadia.

Crudup crooned the standard "Cuddle Up a Little Closer" in his early role in Everyone Says I Love You. He performed a number of tracks in the musical drama Rudderless, wherein he played a grieving father who discovers and begins to perform his late son's music.
