Bert Convy was an American actor.

Biography[]

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Convy studied at UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television before making his first major stage appearance in The Billy Barnes Revue. He also appeared in such films as Susan Slade, A Bucket of Blood and The Cannonball Run.

Convy later became a game show host, heading Password and Tattletales as well as appearing in straight Broadway plays such as The Impossible Years as well as directing several productions of his own.

Convy passed away in 1991.

Singing[]

Convy was one of several newcomers who appeared in The Billy Barnes Revue, but became best known for originating roles in a number of Broadway musicals, including Tommy Dee in Nowhere to Go But Up, Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof and Clifford Bradshaw in Cabaret.

Convy also also appeared as Albert Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie and Guido Contini in Nine.
