Bela Lugosi was a Hungarian actor.

Biography[]

Born in Lugos, Austria-Hungary, Lugosi began work as a stage actor before making his film debut in 1917. In 1922 he appeared in the English Broadway play The Red Poppy and soon appeared in the stage and film productions of Dracula, his most famous role.

Lugosi appeared in a large number of horror films throughout his career, including The Raven, White Zombie and The Black Cat. Though his career underwent a decline, he would appear in a number of films under director Ed Wood, such as Glen or Glenda and Bride of the Atom.

Lugosi passed away in 1956.

Lugosi's singing appearances were limited to radio, where he performed the duet "We're Horrible, Horrible Men."
