Anne Baxter was an American actress.

Biography[]

Born in Michigan City, Indiana, Baxter became an actress from a young age, initially appearing on stage before moving into motion pictures. She gained an Academy Award in 1946 for her role in The Razor's Edge, and achieved acclaim for her titular role in All About Eve.

Though she later appeared in several other hits, including The Ten Commandments, Baxter mostly moved out into television, appearing in the 1960s Batman series and The Mike Douglas Show.

Baxter passed away in 1985.

Singing[]

Baxter sang a number of times in her career in a number of mediums, beginning with joining her onscreen family in The Magnificent Ambersons in singing "The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo", before singing a solo in You're My Everything.

In 1970, Baxter appeared on the show The Name of the Game, as well as playing Margo Channing in Applause, the musical adaptation of her great success All About Eve.
