Al Pacino is an American actor.
Biography[]
Born Alfredo Pacino in Manhattan, New York, Pacino studied at the Actors Studio (of which he was later President) and made stage appearances in Awake and Sing!, The Indian Wants the Bronx and Does a Tiger Wear a Neck Tie? He began appearing in films in 1969 and soon gained critical acclaim for his role as Michael Corleone in The Godfather trilogy.
Pacino continued to have a succesful career with roles in such films as Dog Day Afternoon, And Justice For All and the Academy Award winning Scent of a Woman, in which he played Colonel Frank Slade. He also had success in Shakesperian roles such as Richard III and Shylock in The Merchant of Venice.
Singing[]
Pacino sang several times onscreen, including in the title role in Bobby Deerfield, where he sang "Red Sails in the Sunset" and the duet "Boo-Hoo!"
Pacino also sang the comic "Dunkaccino" as himself in Jack and Jill, and several numbers in Danny Collins, namely "Hey Baby Doll" and "Don't Look Down."
