Adrienne Barbeau is an American actress.
Biography[]
Born in Sacramento, California, she toured with the San Jose Civic Light Opera and worked as a go-go dancer before becoming a stage actress. Her role as Carole Traynor in Maude, alongside her success as a pin-up girl, led to numerous roles on television in programmes including Love Boat and Fantasy Island.
Barbeau also had memorable onscreen appearances including in horror film The Fog, and comedies such as Cannonball Run and Cannibal Women in the Avocado. She also worked as a voice actress, providing the voice of Catwoman in Batman: The Animated Series and Hera in the God of War video games.
Singing[]
Barbeau appeared in the original run of Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway before portraying Cookie Kovac in the nudie musical Stag Movie. Her origination of the role of Betty Rizzo in Grease earned her a Tony Award nomination and in 2015 she returned to musicals with the role of Berthe in Pippin. She also released an eponymous album in 1998.
