Adrian Edmondson is an English actor and comedian.
Biography[]
Born in the West Riding of Yorkshire, he met Rik Mayall whilst studying at Cambridge and the two began an alternative comedy career. Both performed at The Comic Strip and soon became Edmondson recognised for his role as Vvyan Basterd in The Young Ones. He also appeared in Filthy, Rich and Catflap and Bottom again with Mayall, which led to the two of them playing Vladimir and Estragon in Waiting for Godot.
Though later appearing the comedy If You See God, Tell Him, Edmondson moved on to straight works such as Jonathan Creek, the documentary Ade in Britain and appearing twice on Hell's Kitchen. He appeared in various bands including Bad News, Bum Notes and The Idiot Bastard Band.
Singing[]
Edmondson twice appeared in The Rocky Horror Show, as Brad Majors and as the Criminologist in the 2015 revival. He also duetted on the theme song "This Wheel's on Fire" for Absolutely Fabulous.
