Adam West was an American actor.
Biography[]
Born William West Anderson in Walla Walla, Washington, he studied at Whitman College and worked as an announcer on the American Forces Network during the Second World War. After the war he began working on television in the El Kini Popo Show and soon moved into films.
West often appeared in Westerns on film and television, including The Young Philadelphians and Lawman. His best known role came with his casting as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the 1960s television series, a role he lampooned on several occasions, and he later appeared in guest roles on. Bonanza, Bewitched and Zorro. He also memorably voiced a fictional character named Adam West in Family Guy, the idiosyncratic Mayor of Quahog.
West passed away in 2017.
Singing[]
As well as a humorous moment in Batman, West briefly sang twice in the role named for him in Family Guy, "Pie" as his character's Disney counterpart, and "All I Want for Christmas" in the 2010 Christmas special.
